Super Lawyers
Four of our lawyers have been named “Rising Stars” by the publishers of Law & Politics Magazine - Michael Choyke, Russ Hollenbeck, Andy Love, and Chad Forbes, for the March 2006 issue of the “Rising Star” magazine. This honor is given to only 2.5% of the lawyers under 40 in Texas.
Harvey Brown recently participated in a panel discussion on Challenges for Cause at the “Choosing and Courting a Jury” seminar sponsored by the Texas State Bar. He spoke on Expert Witnesses at the Mold Litigation Seminar, and spoke on Hearsay at the Advanced Evidence Seminar. He spoke on Expert Witnesses in Fiduciary Litigation at the Fiduciary Litigation Seminar, and on Expert Witnesses at the Advanced Appellate Seminar and the Advanced Personal Injury Seminar.
Howard Close recently conducted a live voir dire demonstration at the “Choosing and Courting a Jury” seminar sponsored by the Texas State Bar in Houston. He also spoke on Hearsay at the Jefferson County Bar Association Evidence Seminar.
Howard Close was recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2005-2006. This prestigious list is published every two years, compiled through a confidential peer review of lawyers across a spectrum of 30 specialties from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. CBS Morning News has referred to the list as "All the Right Lawyers." Howard also recently conducted a live voir dire demonstration at the “Choosing and Courting a Jury” seminar sponsored by the Texas State Bar in Houston.
Tom Wright argued four cases in 2005 the Texas Supreme Court. The cases he has argued, and links to an audio recording, are found below:
Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee v. American Home Assurance Co. / MP3
GTE Mobilnet v. The Chair King / MP3
Tesco American, Inc. v. Strong Industries, Inc. / MP3
Tom won the case of Qwest Communications v. AT&T in the Supreme Court in June, 2005. See the description in Decisions of Note.
Mike Choyke argued three cases recently in the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston. One case concerned the trial court’s authority to conduct an evidentiary hearing on a temporary injunction before ruling on a motion to compel arbitration. The Court decided that case in our client’s favor.
