Shelley maintains an appellate practice. While at the court of appeals, she handled a variety of civil appeals, analyzing procedural and substantive complaints, making recommendations to the judges, and drafting and editing opinions for the consideration of the court. Since joining the firm, she has gained experience drafting post-trial motions in both federal and state courts. She has also briefed civil appeals and original proceedings in the Texas courts of appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
