Mike has experience in both trial and appellate matters. He has submitted briefs and argued cases in the Texas Supreme Court, several intermediate appellate courts throughout Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mike has analyzed legal and factual issues and has assisted in all phases of trial preparation for numerous complex disputes, in both state and federal court, involving such matters as theft of trade secrets, insurance bad-faith claims, patent infringement, and federal tax indemnification. He also handled a docket of cases for a national retail store. While at the court of appeals, he evaluated a wide variety of complex civil cases, analyzing procedural and substantive complaints, making recommendations to the judges, and drafting and editing opinions for consideration by the court. He has also spoken at a variety of continuing education programs on such topics as preserving error, crafting the jury charge, and Texas insurance law. In 2009, Mike was selected for the fifth time for inclusion in the Texas Super Lawyers ® - Rising Stars Edition.
